Our discounts shown may change, and could increase or decrease should any of the following happen -
- Special offers from investment companies may end
- Investment companies may change their charges, their funds, the amount of commission payable or their charging structures
- Power Robbins may change their terms.
Our discounts apply to retail class investments only.
Investment Trusts
We do not deal with existing investment trusts, because as a general
rule any commission at all that is paid makes an extra charge on
the investment, so there is no point in applying via a discount broker.
In the event of new investment trusts being launched, we may be able to save investors money during the launch period. This is because as a general rule, commission paid to introducers during this time is seen as a management expense.
Discounts on regular savings into unit trust or OEIC funds outside the ISA
We offer a choice of discounts. If you pay us a handling fee of £25 per application form (i.e. for ONE fund management company, even if saving in several funds), we will give up all of our initial commission. This will give you a discount of 3% in almost every case.
Please make your handling fee cheque payable to Power Robbins and post it to us with your application form and Investment Agreement.
Remember, our handling fee ONLY APPLIES TO REGULAR SAVINGS INTO UNIT TRUSTS / OEICS / ICVCS OUTSIDE THE ISA
If you would prefer not to pay a fee, we will keep 1% initial commission and your ongoing discount will be 1% lower.
Save money when switching funds within the same fund management company
Power Robbins may be able to save you money when switching funds within the same fund management company, if your investment is already in our agency.
Most fund managers give generous discounts off the initial charge for fund switches. If, when you phone your fund manager to enquire, they won’t give you a good discount, ask if it’s because they will pay Power Robbins commission for the switch.
If YES, send your switching instructions in writing via our office. We will forward these promptly, waiving the switch commission.
Fund Market Switches
Cofunds currently have a standard charge of 0.25% for all fund switches. We will give you a supply of switch instruction forms, that you can send direct to Cofunds.
